About me
MSc (1997) and a PhD (2001) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Porto, and the Habilitation title in Informatics Engineering (2023) from the same university. Coordinator Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering - School of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, where he currently leads research in areas such as real-time software, programming languages, concurrency and parallelism.
Participated in more than 25 research projects. Project Coordinator and Technical Manager of the FP7 R&D European Project P-SOCRATES (Parallel SOftware framework for time-CRitical mAny-core sysTEmS), local coordinator in the H2020 ELASTIC, H2020 AMPERE, ITEA Panorama projects, H2020 EnerGAware, FP5 NNES REMPLI, Artemis ENCOURAGE and ITEA 2 CarCoDe projects, among others. Coordinator of CooperatES and Reflect national funded Research Projects.
Published more than 150 papers in international conferences and journals in the area of real-time embedded computing systems, and participated in the Organization and Program Committees of several international conferences in the area.
