My research at DTU Energy focuses on developing sustainable electrochemical technologies for carbon capture and utilization. We design redox-active molecules and advanced electrode architectures for energy-efficient CO₂ capture, including direct capture from air and other dilute emission sources. By integrating capture and conversion within a single electrochemical platform, we aim to transform captured CO₂ directly into valuable products such as carbon monoxide and multicarbon chemicals.
Our work spans molecular and materials design, mechanistic studies, electrochemical reactor engineering, and flow-system development. Particular emphasis is placed on reducing energy consumption, improving stability under realistic operating conditions, and translating laboratory discoveries into scalable systems. Through this research, we seek to build a practical bridge from carbon capture to carbon value and contribute to a circular carbon economy.
