About
SCEA Abbaye Saint Pierre de Lacour is an organic microfarm and rural innovation site located in southern France, combining agroecology, small-scale diversified production, on-site food processing, and knowledge transmission. The farm integrates orchards, market gardening, and medicinal/aromatic plants within a regenerative approach that promotes soil health, biodiversity, and low-input farming systems.
The Abbey develops short value chains through local transformation of agricultural products and explores sustainable, resilient food systems adapted to climate and territorial constraints. It also serves as a place of training and experimentation, hosting workshops, educational activities, and hands-on learning for farmers, citizens, and professionals.
With its strong focus on practice-based knowledge and real-life implementation, the Abbey is well positioned to contribute to Horizon Europe projects as:
-
a pilot and demonstration site for agroecological and organic farming systems,
-
a living lab environment for testing sustainable practices and innovations,
-
a dissemination and training partner supporting peer-to-peer learning,
-
a case study for rural development, short supply chains, and local resilience.
The organization is particularly interested in projects related to organic farming, agroecology, soil health, rural innovation, food systems transformation, and knowledge transfer (AKIS).
