National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) – Jordan
The National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) is Jordan’s principal government agricultural research institution, operating under the umbrella of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Mission & Vision: NARC aims to use locally-derived and global research findings to increase and improve plant and animal agricultural production, optimise natural resource use, support agricultural development, and preserve environmental balance for sustainable development. Functions & Activities: The Centre determines national agricultural research priorities in cooperation with relevant authorities, develops and adopts technologies suited to local conditions, disseminates and adapts agricultural innovations, provides consultancy and technical services, conducts field surveys, and supports capacity building through training, workshops, and conferences. It also preserves biodiversity through field studies and manages the National Seed Bank. Structure & Reach: NARC’s headquarters is located in Al-Baqaa, Balqa Governorate, north of Amman, and it oversees multiple regional research centres and stations across Jordan’s climatic zones. Collaboration: The Centre works with local, Arab, and international partners to implement research programmes and contribute to agricultural innovation, sustainability, and development.
