With  MooV (part of VITO) we help clients to organize the logistics in their supply chain more efficiently.

We challenge different strategies, related to;

• Cost minimisation

• Maximisation of circularity

• Minimisation of environmental impact

• Impact of collaboration strategies

We look at the current configuration of the supply chain.

• Where are the different activities located (i.e. farmers, cooperations, central facility)?

• How are they interconnected?

• What are the processing, through-put and storage capacities?

• What is the size of the transport fleet?

• How are products collected (pick-up rounds, direct transport…)?

And we compare this current configuration with future alternative configurations that could perform better. Such alternatives could be:

• Centralised vs. centralised storage

• Opening new facilities and/or close/merge existing facilities

• Introducing new pick-up routes, products, activities...

• Increasing/decreasing fleet capacity

We compare current vs. future configurations based on KPI’s (key performance indicators) such as;

• Logistic cost

• Mileage

• Loading rates

•  Vehicle movements

We make this comparison using our in-house developed MooV supply chain optimisation model. Based on the comparison results we provide decision support to our clients allowing them to make informed on how to improve their supply chain.
