About
SEED Projects (Social Empowerment and Enterprise Development) is a Malta-based initiative that supports rural communities, social enterprises, and civil society organisations through inclusive, sustainable development. Building on the success of initiatives like the Merill Rural Network and Malta Rural Tours, SEED provides tools, coordination, and innovation support to help communities take action and scale up sustainable practices.
SEED operates at the intersection of rural development, social entrepreneurship, sustainable tourism, and NGO professionalisation. It offers hands-on expertise in project design, EU funding, governance, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building. As a neutral and self-funded national contact point, SEED connects grassroots actors with public and private partners, facilitating the Multi-Actor Approach and supporting real-world implementation of EU policy priorities.
SEED is an active participant in several EU-funded projects, including Cross-Re-Tour, and collaborates closely with national stakeholders such as SEAM and the Malta Tourism Authority. It is well-positioned to contribute to piloting, dissemination, replication, and WP leadership within Horizon Europe and related programmes.
