About
The Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) is the largest marine research centre in Spain, aligned with the values of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030), and aimed at the development of research excellence to inspire a society in harmony with the blue planet. To achieve this goal, the ICM’s scientists are working on knowledge and technology transfer regarding issues related to the interaction between ocean and climate, the conservation and sustainable use of life and marine ecosystems, and the mitigation of the impacts of natural hazards and anthropogenic activity. Under the motto “Marine Research for a healthy planet”, the ICM has a highly interdisciplinary character, with the ability to broadly address numerous questions and challenges related to marine sciences and technologies.
