About
The global vulnerability of climate change, public health, and energy is an interconnected global problem, with impacts spanning various sectors and populations. Driven by greenhouse gas emissions from energy production and other human activities, the nexus of climate change, public health, and energy remains a significant issue, with detrimental effects on public health. Through its specialized agencies, the United Nations (UN) recognizes this complex relationship and emphasizes the need for urgent action to address climate change, improve public health, and transition to sustainable energy systems. For example, the World recognises that as the global climate crisis escalates, its devastating impacts on human health and well-being will also accelerate (World Bank, 2024). The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) acknowledges the substantial risks that climate change poses to human health, including direct effects such as heat-related mortality and increased disease transmission, as well as indirect effects, such as impacts on food production and migration. The UN Development Programme (UNDP) appeals that addressing climate change, particularly in its intersection with public health and energy, adapting to its impacts, and strengthening health systems while promoting sustainable energy solutions should be at the forefront of international ambitions.
The Net-zero Hub (NEHUB) is positioned to contribute to global efforts in addressing the complex, interconnected nature of climate change, public health, and energy. NEHUB, specializing in climate change, public health, and energy, provides expert advice and solutions to help governments, organizations, NGOs, and other related institutions address the interconnected challenges of climate change, public health impacts, and energy transitions.
NEHUB recognizes that addressing climate change, public health, and energy challenges requires a multifaceted, concerted, and holistic approach focused on sustainability and resilience, including building climate-resilient systems, promoting sustainable practices, and raising public awareness and consciousness.
Through its work, which includes consultancy services, NEHUB has a national, regional, continental, and global ambition of contributing to addressing sustainability and resilience, particularly in the climate change-public health-energy nexus while promoting meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs while creating a framework for long-term well-being that encompasses environmental, social, and economic considerations.
