IBERO MASSA FLORESTAL (IMF) is an innovation-oriented Portuguese SME specialising in sustainable biomass valorisation, biochar production, and carbon-based soil solutions. The company operates under the European Biochar Certificate (EBC), ensuring high environmental performance and traceability throughout the production chain.

IMF produces premium-quality biochar from sustainably sourced forest biomass, mainly Acacia and Eucalyptus, using controlled slow pyrolysis processes reaching up to 700 °C. This technology guarantees consistent carbon stability, purity, and functionality for agricultural and environmental applications.

The company plays an active role in European research and innovation ecosystems, contributing to the green and digital transition of land management. IMF is a partner in several EU-funded projects. These initiatives focus on integrating biochar and nature-based solutions to enhance soil health, water retention, carbon removal, and ecosystem resilience, supporting the objectives of the EU Soil Strategy, Green Deal, and Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
