Synthetic Satellite & Drone Data for Model Training and Simulation: Technology Partner available for Cluster 6 Consortia
Sales & Business Development at Another Earth
Vienna, Austria
About
Another Earth is an AI and Earth Observation startup that has built a proprietary synthetic data engine capable of generating photorealistic satellite and drone imagery for training AI models and simulations.
What we do:
Our engine combines proprietary AI with 3D rendering to produce synthetic remote sensing datasets that are perfectly labelled at pixel level, including segmentation masks. Because the data is generated from 3D scenes, our datasets also include height and structural information, relevant for applications like tree height estimation, canopy width measurement, biomass assessment, and vertical structure analysis.
How we can contribute to projects:
The biggest bottleneck in EO-based AI is the lack of labelled training data, especially for events and conditions that are rare, emerging, or not yet documented. Our synthetic data engine removes this limitation. We’re able to contribute as consortia members through the following.
-
Training for predictive tools: We can generate training data for conditions that don't yet exist in real-world archives: early-stage tree disease before visible symptoms, pre-drought stress signatures, pest infestation progression, extreme weather damage scenarios. This allows AI models to be trained for predictive and early warning applications, not just reactive monitoring.
-
Simulation and scenario building: Our synthetic data is ideal for simulation use cases. Need to model what a forest looks like after 5 years of drought? After a bark beetle outbreak? After species conversion from spruce to broadleaf? We can generate those scenarios as training data, enabling AI models that power forward-looking decision support tools.
-
Filling data gaps: For rare events, under-monitored regions, or novel conditions where real data simply doesn't exist, synthetic data fills the gap, enabling robust model training even where historical archives fall short.
Our expertise:
We have particular depth in forestry and environmental applications, including tree species detection and classification, forest health assessment, canopy structure analysis, and biomass estimation. Our technology has been proven in projects within forestry as well as in agricultural applications for early disease detection.
What we can offer to your consortium:
-
Synthetic training data generation tailored to your project's sensor, resolution, and application needs, delivered with pixel-perfect labels and segmentation masks
-
AI model development for classification, detection, and prediction tasks
-
Rapid deployment to new geographies and biomes without extensive local ground-truth collection
-
Scenario-specific dataset generation for simulation and predictive modelling applications
What we are looking for:
We are seeking to join Cluster 6 consortia as a technology and AI partner for Horizon Europe proposals, all calls targeting biodiversity, forestry, agriculture, ecosystem monitoring, climate adaptation, and nature restoration. We are also open to contributing to running projects as a subcontractor where synthetic training data or predictive AI capabilities would strengthen existing work.
We are especially interested in partnering with ecology and forest research institutes, agricultural research centres, public agencies, and policy organisations who need a technology partner to bring predictive AI capabilities to their domain expertise.
