Soil biodiversity monitoring and fungal-based solutions for sustainable ecosystems

Head of Biotechnology at MyPilz

Wien, Austria

About

We offer advanced soil biodiversity monitoring based on DNA metabarcoding of fungal and bacterial communities, enabling high-resolution assessment of belowground ecosystems. Our services include sampling design, standardized field protocols, sequencing, bioinformatics, and ecological data interpretation.

Our work supports restoration and land-use projects by identifying microbial indicators of soil health, ecosystem functioning, and recovery trajectories. These data complement aboveground biodiversity assessments and contribute to integrated evaluation frameworks.

In addition, we work with locally adapted fungal communities to support ecosystem regeneration and soil functionality. This approach enables nature-based, site-specific strategies aligned with biodiversity conservation and long-term ecosystem resilience.

We seek collaborations in projects where belowground biodiversity assessment contributes to restoration success evaluation, especially in rewilding initiatives, land-use change studies, or projects requiring soil health indicators.
