About

The institute has extensive experience in applied research, pilot implementation, and stakeholder engagement, working closely with municipalities, practitioners, and citizens. Our research focuses on integrating biodiversity considerations into spatial planning, construction practices, and urban development, transition toward nature-positive built environments.

ICEB is currently involved in the BioBox Cross-border Biodiversity Toolbox project, which promotes citizen engagement in biodiversity protection through practical toolkits, awareness activities, and monitoring approaches for urban and peri-urban environments.

We are actively seeking to join a consortium in a role of a partner offering the following.Within the context of this call, ICEB can contribute in several key areas:

• Expertise in Horizon Europe project participation- as project partners.

·       Citizen engagement and co-creation: design and implementation of participatory approaches, workshops, and community-driven activities supporting biodiversity protection and restoration.

Citizen science and biodiversity monitoring: development and testing of participatory monitoring approaches that enable citizens to contribute to biodiversity data collection and awareness.

Biodiversity integration in built environments: development of practical solutions and guidelines for integrating biodiversity measures into buildings, infrastructure, and urban spaces.

Toolkits and knowledge transfer: development of practical toolkits, guidelines, and training materials supporting municipalities, practitioners, and citizens in implementing biodiversity-friendly practices.

Pilot and demonstration activities: implementation and evaluation of pilot actions and living labs that test innovative biodiversity measures in real-world environments.

Stakeholder engagement and capacity building: facilitation of dialogue between researchers, citizens, municipalities, and practitioners.
