Expertise offer – Food bioactives & cell-based assays
Researcher at University of Florence
Florence, Italy
About
I am a biologist at the University of Florence (Italy) with expertise in identifying food-derived bioactive compounds and validating their bioactivity using in vitro cell culture models. My work focuses on anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity assessment to support functional food / nutrition / health research.
What I can contribute
• In vitro cell-based bioactivity testing for anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects (screening, dose-response, reproducibility).
• Experimental design for bioactive validation and selection of lead compounds/fractions.
• Mechanistic-oriented readouts related to inflammation/oxidative stress (cell-based assays) and data interpretation.
Looking for
• Horizon Europe Cluster 6 consortia (food systems, healthy diets, sustainable nutrition) needing a partner for bioactive validation and biological evidence packages.
• Partners with expertise in food matrices, processing, analytical chemistry/metabolomics, human nutrition, microbiome, or pilot/field validation to complement my in vitro assays.
Preferred role
• Partner / task leader / WP contributor on bioactivity validation, assay development, and evidence generation.
