Innovation Manager at Bondalti Water
About
Bondalti Water offers an industrial integrator and demonstration partner role to design, retrofit and validate resilient drinking water and wastewater infrastructures able to operate under increasing climate variability (floods/droughts), evolving hydraulic regimes, and emerging contaminants, while enabling digital-first operation and cyber-physical protection. Our focus is pragmatic: what can be implemented in real utilities and industrial sites, with measurable gains in reliability, energy/carbon footprint, and resource recovery.
What we can contribute (work packages / tasks)
-
Modular resilience upgrades for existing assets: development and integration of modular processes/tools to improve adaptability of water supply and wastewater collection/treatment to climate pressures and emerging pollution loads.
-
Digital water infrastructure (end-to-end): deployment concepts for smart sensors and IoT, advanced monitoring, digital twins and AI/predictive analytics for performance monitoring, prediction, energy use, carbon footprint, and material recovery optimisation.
-
Early warning & unknown contaminant readiness: monitoring strategies and operational playbooks to maintain service under new chemical/biological threats and variable pollutant loads, including robust data QA/QC and event detection.
-
Flood/drought predictive design support: contribution to improved predictions/impact assessment for floods and droughts to inform robust asset design and mitigation measures.
-
Secure data sharing and interoperability: design of FAIR/INSPIRE-aligned data management and sharing frameworks, including secure collaboration models and interdependency mapping with other critical infrastructures.
-
Cyber-physical protection measures: tools, procedures and architecture recommendations to protect physical and digital water infrastructures against malicious attacks (cyber and/or physical), including monitoring and incident-response integration with operations.
-
DLT/blockchain use cases (optional): exploration of distributed-ledger approaches for data integrity, smart-contract service automation, and potential certification/financing mechanisms as encouraged by the topic.
