About
- Interesting in joining an existing consortium as WP Lead for the HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-BIODIV-01: Understanding and tackling the decline of insects (RIA) closing in September 2026.
Dr Nic An Bhaird's interests are in bioeconomy education; education for the science–society nexus. She is WP lead in the €2 million Horizon Europe BioBeo project, a pan-European consortium of 15 partners across education, science, technology, and wider society.
She is also a partner in the €8 million Horizon 2020 AgroCycle project, which addresses the transition to a circular economy. Her team’s contribution centres on translating complex scientific concepts related to circularity into child-centred, curriculum-appropriate language for use in primary education.
Dr Nic An Bhaird serves as Challenge Lead within the BiOrbic (Research Ireland Centre) for the Education for Public Engagement challenge area. She is also Principal Investigator for several funded bioeconomy-education research projects, including CBEC (Circular Bioeconomy Education Centre).
