HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-CIRCBIO-07: Advancing the European bio-based innovation enabled by biotechnology and biomanufacturing concepts

Valbiom can support or co-lead activities related to:

•Support the identification, qualification and sustainable sourcing of biomass feedstocks for advanced bio-based technologies, including metabolic engineering and biomanufacturing concepts

•Contribute to the integration of nature-based solutions within bio-based innovation pathways to deliver environmental co-benefits (biodiversity, soil, climate resilience)

•Lead or co-lead early-stage sustainability, safety and environmental impact assessments of biotechnological innovation pathways, ensuring alignment with EU climate and biodiversity objectives

•Support the assessment of scalability, circularity and resource efficiency, including cascading use of biomass and by-product valorisation

•Facilitate multi-actor engagement involving SMEs (project partners and external actors), biomass suppliers, clusters, public authorities and bioeconomy practitioners

•Engage civil society stakeholders (NGOs, consumer and environmental organisations) to support societal acceptance, transparency and responsible scale-up of bio-based innovation

•Contribute to communication, dissemination and exploitation activities, ensuring relevance for SMEs and bioeconomy stakeholders
