Secondary biomass valorization
Senior lecturer at IHE Delft
Delft, Netherlands
About
Secondary biomass is often treated as waste and underutilized. A clear example is the sludge generated in wastewater treatment plants, whose significant potential remains largely untapped.
At IHE, we aim to valorize this residual biomass, transforming wastewater sludge into high-value products such as air and water filters, soil conditioners, bioplastics, and biomethane. By closing resource loops, we contribute to circular economy solutions with tangible environmental and economic benefits.
Are you working on similar challenges or interested in co-developing innovative biomass valorization pathways? We invite researchers, industry partners, and innovators to join forces and turn waste into sustainable value.
