Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) is a modern academic and research center whose tradition dates back to 1816.

The scientific quality of Warsaw University of Life Sciences is affirmed by the prominent position we occupy in international rankings and citation indexes.

SGGW is  leading university in the four related core areas:

·        food economy nutrition

·        climate change prevention

·        biotechnology

·        veterinary

SGGW is focused on international cooperation, conducting scientific research and transferring knowledge to economic entities. The University conducts joint research and teaching with over 275 foreign universities from 50 countries around the world.

SGGW effectively implements scientific research projects within both framework programs and national funding. Our scientists have experience in conducting and coordinating projects in cooperation with scientific institutions and research centers as well as the public and industrial sectors.

The role of SGGW in the European and global arena is growing every year. This is indicated by objective factors, such as the increase in the number of projects implemented within international programs or publications in journals with high IF. In order to increase the international competitiveness of SGGW, interdisciplinary research teams were established.

SGGW is involved in the work of Polish and international scientific networks and associations, belongs to numerous international consortiums, and is a member of UNIGreen (https://unigreen-alliance.eu/about-unigreen/ ) and European Bioeconomy University (https://www.european-bioeconomy-university.eu/ ).

 The University own modern research centres (food, climate), experimental fields, labolatories and workshops, equipped with specialized, certified equipment, which are lead by outstanding experts.
