About
At the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management National Research Institute, we are dedicated to advancing meteorological and hydrological research to support sustainable development and resilience to climate change. Our experts collaborate on cutting-edge studies that inform national policies and enhance public safety through accurate weather forecasting and water management strategies. By sharing our findings and insights, we aim to foster partnerships across sectors, driving innovation and improving decision-making in environmental management. We invite other professionals and organizations to connect with us for shared goals and collaborative opportunities.
Invitation to Join Horizon Europe Consortium – WATAGROSAT Project
WATAGROSAT: Innovative agricultural platform for real-time soil water capacity monitoring and management based on IoT sensors calibrated satellite data and machine learning.
This project will be submitted under the Horizon Europe framework, called HORIZON-MISS-2025-05-SOIL-03: "Increasing environmental resilience through a better knowledge and management of the soil-water nexus."
The project is focused on developing an innovative system for monitoring and managing soil water capacity using IoT technology, satellite data, and machine learning. The project will involve the creation of advanced predictive models of soil water dynamics, integrated into a user-friendly platform for farmers. The system will be field-tested and piloted, accompanied by comprehensive environmental, social, and economic analyses.
We are seeking partners with expertise in soil science, hydrology, biodiversity, remote sensing, data modelling, and stakeholder engagement, in particular: research institutions, universities, SMEs, agricultural organizations, public bodies and farmers or farmer associations; expertise in: precision agriculture, data analytics, hydrology, climate science, app development, LCA ; willingness to collaborate on field testing, data modeling, and application deployment.
We seek to expand our consortium with new European partners who can bring valuable expertise and contribute to the project's success. To facilitate networking and the formation of a robust consortium, we are organizing an online working meeting on August 8, 2025, at 10:00 CEST https://lnkd.in/dK6RMk6z
We cordially invite all researchers, institutions, and organizations interested in the project's thematic areas to join this meeting. Your participation will be highly valued as we work towards building a strong and diverse consortium. We look forward to collaborating with you on this exciting and impactful project.
