About
LBTU is a leading institution in biosciences, biotechnology, and sustainable agriculture, with strong expertise in the valorisation of marine and terrestrial biomass and the development of innovative biotechnological solutions for food and agriculture. The university conducts research on the development and environmental assessment of alternative protein sources, such as algae-based ingredients, which directly aligns with EU priorities in biotechnology and sustainable food systems. LBTU's contribution to the consortium includes advanced research capacity in alternative proteins, circular bioeconomy, and climate-smart agriculture, as well as extensive experience in international cooperation and industry collaboration. This ensures effective knowledge transfer, development of innovative solutions, and support for the implementation of project objectives in line with EU sustainability goals.
