About

IFNTUOG was founded in 1967. Today 7 Institutes, 1 faculty and 43 departments train over 8 thousand of students in 46 bachelor and 44 master educational programs. University has more than 500 persons of academic and research staff and around 150 PhD students. Educational activities are focused at hands-on skills and raising the employability of graduates at national and foreign oil and gas companies. Research fields vary from prospection, drilling, production and transportation of oil and gas, servicing, instrumentations to sector economics, energy-efficiency, sustainable development and technological safety and security. Innovation infrastructure of the university include R&D Institute of Oil and Gas Power Engineering and Ecology, Technology transfer office, Exhibition center, Technical committee for standardization UA/TC146 (member of ISO/TC67, EASC/ITC523, CEN/TC12), National Contact Point for EU Horizon Europe on “Financial and legal aspects", "European research council”, Drilling Personnel Training Centre (accredited by IWCF), Oil and Gas Technological Park LLC, etc. International student-level contacts and cooperation is performed by local committees of IAESTE, AIESEC and SPE (university charter recognized the best in 2014 by Society of Petroleum Engineers).
