The Port of Bilbao is a CORE TENT-T network European port and the most important port in the north of Spain, ranking in the top 5 in Spain. Its strategic location makes it a distribution centre for goods of continental interest. It specialises in Short Sea Shipping (S3). In addition to its logistic function, the Port of Bilbao also receives cruise ships. The Port of Bilbao has a landlord management model, being owners of the land and through a concession contract, it cedes the operation and management to private companies, with 240 companies making up the port community, generating a total of 11,000 jobs. It offers connections to 207 European ports and 900 ports Worldwide.
