National Information Processing Institute (OPI PIB) is a public research institute under polish Ministry of Science and Education. Laboratory of Interactive Technologies (LIT) is one of its research units. It is an interdisciplinary research team employing specialists from varied science fields: social and cognitive psychology, sociology of innovation, information technologies, neuroscience, User Centered Design, statistics, and applied machine learning. LIT area of interest are the phenomena associated with individual human interaction with technologies, especially social context of the human-computer communication and interaction with technology as general. The laboratory works on analysis of multiple aspects of human interaction with digital devices and services. LIT employees focus on designing new ways of human-technology interaction (HTI) – not only innovative forms of mutual contact, but also emphasizing the importance of cognitive psychology and emotional factors on the effective use of technology. Thanks to collaboration with the leading research centers in Poland and abroad, LIT uses the most up-to-date methods of research. Constant contact with world-level scientists, IT and industry sector representatives ensures transfer of our research outcomes to the business.
