New Generation Sensors S.r.l. is a spin-off of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa, founded in 2015, with solid expertise in developing advanced solutions for data collection, processing, and cloud management, aligned with the vision of the Internet of Things (IoT). Over the years, the company has developed proprietary hardware and software platforms capable of acquiring high-value data directly from the field, leveraging cloud-native architectures for storage, visualization, and advanced processing. Through the integration of data analytics and artificial intelligence, these solutions provide strategic insights and improve operational management across multiple sectors. New Generation Sensors stands out for its flexible and scalable operational model, supported by a broad network of collaborating developers. This approach enables the company to maintain an agile core team while offering a wide range of specialized expertise and delivering high-quality products. The company operates in two main application areas: Smart Factory – New Generation Sensors has developed PlantOne, an innovative system designed to democratize predictive maintenance for manufacturing SMEs. With centralized cloud-based data management, PlantOne enables real-time monitoring of machine health, preventing failures and optimizing productivity. Smart Logistics – The company has created TrackOne, a mode-agnostic solution for goods monitoring and traceability. Leveraging the cloud for data management and analytics, TrackOne ensures complete supply chain visibility, enhancing shipment control both in last-mile logistics and in cargo transportation.

About me

My academic and professional journey began in the realm of economic sciences and has evolved toward a passionate exploration of Industry 5.0, where technology and human-centered values converge. I embarked on this path with a solid foundation in economics—earning both a Bachelor’s in Business Economics (with a thesis on corporate communication strategies and relationship marketing) and a Master’s in Economic Sciences (graduated cum laude with a marketing and technology thesis focused on digital transformation in business).

Building on this background, I currently pursue a PhD in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence at Universitas Mercatorum. My research centers on leveraging AI within industrial contexts—integrating IoT, robotics, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and high‑speed networks—to foster production processes that elevate both human and environmental well‑being and align with sustainable, regenerative economic models.

I’ve also cultivated extensive expertise through advanced training in areas such as explainable AI, digital transformation, ethical AI in education, educational robotics and coding, generative AI content creation, and inclusive teaching methodologies like CLIL. These have been delivered via leading institutions including Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Luiss Business School, 24Ore Business School, Tech Global University, and others.

Certifications and honors further complement my academic profile:

  • Registered as an Innovation Manager in both the Ministry of Economic Development’s roster of technological innovation experts and the Manageritalia–XLabor roster .

  • Serving as Impact Manager for the EU-funded TREATMENT Project under NextGenerationEU, which focuses on sustainable last-mile delivery in clinical trial logistics.

  • Acting as Coordinator of the Outreach Department of MIAS—promoting awareness of the “Manifesto on Generative Artificial Intelligence in Schools” within educational communities

  • Member of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AIxIA)

Moreover, I played a leadership role in initiatives fostering sustainability and social innovation, such as coordinating the “Fair to Food” project at the Contamination Lab of Universitas Mercatorum—aimed at certifying economic sustainability through blockchain and smart contracts within the food sector, in alignment with the EU Green Deal
