Leonardo Piccinetti

With over two decades of experience in EU innovation, project management, and stakeholder engagement, I co-lead the Working Group Human Capital at Water Europe, the voice and promoter of water-related research and innovation in Europe. My mission is to create sensitivity and awareness within the water sector to the human factor of the sector at the European level and to position the European water sector as a reference in this domain by defining a common agenda, creating possibilities, and sharing best practices. My core competencies include designing and delivering training workshops on EU process and innovation methodology, coaching and mentoring organizations on EU competitive tenders, and fostering transnational collaborations and partnerships. I also have a strong interest in and knowledge of circular economy and sustainability topics, and in 2023, I was awarded a Circular Economy diploma at Munster Technological University. I am passionate about contributing to the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient water sector and achieving the EU Green Deal objectives. Please also include that in January 2024, I will begin an enriching journey with Trinity College in the ‘Advanced Life Cycle Assessment and Econometrics for Sustainable Engineering’ course. This program is tailored for professionals in engineering, applied sciences, and related disciplines keen on enhancing their contribution to sustainable initiatives.
