About me
ENERAGEN – Spanish Network of Public Energy Agencies
ENERAGEN is a non‑profit association founded in 2003 that acts as the main coordination and cooperation platform for public energy agencies and public bodies in Spain. It brings together 31 regional, provincial and local energy agencies, representing a critical mass of public actors directly involved in the implementation of energy transition, climate, and sustainability policies at territorial level.
ENERAGEN plays a strategic role in strengthening cooperation between its members by promoting cohesion, leveraging synergies, and facilitating the exchange of information, data, and best practices. Through this coordinating role, ENERAGEN helps align local and regional actions with national and European energy and climate objectives, acting as a stable interface between policy design and implementation on the ground.
As a representative body, ENERAGEN provides a common voice for local and regional energy agencies in national and European fora. It actively represents the interests of its members before public authorities, EU institutions, and international initiatives, contributing practical, territory‑based expertise to policy discussions and project design.
ENERAGEN has extensive experience in European cooperation projects, supporting knowledge transfer, capacity building, and replication of solutions across territories. Its activities include:
-
Coordination of thematic working groups among energy agencies
-
Transfer of know‑how on energy efficiency, renewables, and local energy planning
-
Organisation of training sessions, seminars, and webinars for public technicians and decision‑makers
Within Horizon Europe and other EU programmes, ENERAGEN acts as a multiplier and facilitator, ensuring that innovative solutions reach local and regional authorities, are adapted to real territorial needs, and achieve scalable impact across Spain and beyond.
