Absentia – Exploring the Absence is a non-profit organisation based in Stintino, a small village in northwestern Sardinia, Italy. Founded in 2022, its mission is to revitalise rural and remote communities by transforming perceived absences—such as depopulation, seasonal tourism, and fading traditions—into opportunities for innovation and sustainable growth. The organisation creates spaces for innovation, training, and discussion, and is working to establish co-working and co-living spaces to experiment with new ways of working in small villages. Absentia collaborates closely with the Municipality of Stintino and the Tonnara Museum to create cultural proposals that stimulate creativity and skills in the local area. Through these efforts, the organisation seeks to fill social absences evident in small villages by fostering community engagement and social innovation.

About me

I am a European Project Designer and Senior Project Manager with a Ph.D. in Public Management and Governance, specializing in social impact assessment and impact-oriented project design. Since 2018, I have been working across academia and the private sector to design and manage EU-funded projects under Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, COSME, CERV, and AICS.

As a freelance consultant, I support organizations in the development of innovative and strategic project proposals, partnership building, and effective implementation of complex initiatives. I also work as a trainer and lecturer, delivering workshops and academic courses on EU project design, impact assessment methodologies, and sustainability strategies.

My areas of focus include urban regeneration, sustainable tourism, social inclusion, and agrifood innovation, with a strong emphasis on aligning project outcomes with policy priorities and stakeholder needs.
