About me
Marcos António Nogueira, 60, Portuguese, is a devoted European and Eurointegration enthusiast. Former regional-diplomat, former government cabinet member, Professor, EU affairs practitioner, projects / programmes coordinator, mathematical modeller, engineer, programmer, writer, entrepreneur, Marcos is also a farmer in the region of Alentejo, Portugal, as well as an ocean skipper. Academically, Marcos started his research career in 1992, with numerous publications in the topic of mathematical modelling, including on the topic of applications to local and regional development. Currently researchers on quantitative regional development models inductive of virtuous investment doctrines. Marcos founded or co-funded, eight different organisations, from enterprises to research groups, all of them currently operating, and published a wide wealth of reports, papers, chapters and e-books. Marcos currently leads the Congress of European Emerging Regions, The Europeaner (an emerging media focused on promoting results from local, regional and European excellence projects) and the annual European Digital Democracy Summit, held in Brussels. Marcos is deeply engaged on governance and leadership projects both at local/regional and European level.
