I am interested in soil health, and in biodiversity and ecology of peatlands. My expertise are oribatid mites which are good bioindicators.

My organisation

One of the research areas at Faculty of Applied Ecology, Agricultural Sciences and Biotechnology is soil health. We have our own experiental fields and equipment to carry out studies on the agricultural practices that provide healthy soils and guarantee good production and healthy plants. Our group include scientists studying physical and biological properties of soil, as well as crops. Part of our group is also interested in biodiversity and conservation of peatlands.

About me

I have MSc degree in Animal Husbandary (University of Science and Technology, Bydgoszcz, Poland), PhD in Agricultural Sciences (Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Poland) and habilitation degree in Forest Sciences (Forest Research Institute, Sękocin Stary/ Warsaw, Poland).

During all my carrier I have been working on Oribatida mites - their taxonomy (including molecular approach), biodiversity and ecology. This group is present in all types of soils, beeing a good bioindicator of soil health.

For many years I was employed at University of Science and Technology, Bydgoszcz, Poland. I moved to Norway where I worked for six years at the University of Bergen and since 2023 at the University of Inland Norway.
