Nicola Dorigo Salamon

I have 20 years of experience in managing EU-funded Research and Innovation (R&I) projects. My expertise spans project design, management, and innovation across diverse sectors, including manufacturing, life sciences, and creative industries. Having contributed to more than 40 EU-funded projects since Framework Programme 5 (FP5), I have developed extensive skills in leading complex, interdisciplinary initiatives and building public-private partnerships.

I began my career within an industry association and consulting, connecting SMEs with EU funding opportunities. This experience laid the foundation for subsequent roles in consultancy firms, research centres, and universities, where I established and ran specialised Grant Offices, providing technical assistance to secure and manage EU funding. I have also been instrumental in supporting manufacturing SMEs, helping them access funding for pre-competitive and pre-normative research.

Currently, as the EU Projects and Policy Manager at SAFE, I oversee the institutional portfolio of projects, promoting and advocating for food safety and sustainability in the food industry.
