About me
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Betül Özer is a faculty member at Kırklareli University, Faculty of Technology, Department of Energy Systems Engineering. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in Environmental Engineering at Istanbul Technical University and earned her Ph.D. from the same institution’s Institute of Science and Technology. Her doctoral research focused on scenario analysis of CO₂ emission reduction potential in Turkey’s electricity sector.
Her research interests include sustainable energy systems, renewable energy sources, carbon footprint assessment, energy efficiency, waste management, and environmental modeling. She has participated as a principal investigator and researcher in various national and international projects and has contributed to studies on energy and environmental policies.
Dr. Özer conducts research on the sustainable utilization of renewable energy sources such as biogas, geothermal, and biomass. She also provides consultancy on energy efficiency and emission reduction in the industrial sector and has supervised multiple master’s theses in related fields.
She has published extensively in national and international peer-reviewed journals and serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals such as Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Energy. Additionally, she has taken on reviewer roles for TÜBİTAK and the Ministry of Industry and Technology projects.
Continuing her academic and professional work in sustainable energy and environmental management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Betül Özer focuses on research aimed at reducing the environmental impacts of energy systems.
