The National Institute of Agronomic Research of Tunisia (INRAT) is a public research institution under the Ministry of Agriculture. As Tunisia’s oldest agronomic research institute, INRAT has significantly contributed to modernizing the agricultural sector and agro-systems. In 2017, it was honored with the President of the Republic's prize for best research and innovation institution. INRAT operates seven laboratories in Tunis and five research stations across diverse climatic regions. Its mission includes conducting research, developing new crop varieties, improving animal breeds, enhancing agricultural production systems, transferring technology, and providing training and advisory services. The institute’s expertise spans a wide range of agricultural fields. INRAT's multidisciplinary team includes agronomists, horticulturists, plant pathologists, breeders, rural economists, and agricultural engineers. With extensive experience in managing international research projects, INRAT participates in European initiatives such as H2020, Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and PRIMA, ensuring effective project supervision and implementation. Additionally, INRAT fosters stakeholder engagement through numerous partnerships, working closely with farmers, cooperatives, industry, NGOs, and policymakers.

About me

Professor at the National Institute of Agricultural Research of Tunisia. She received her PhD degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis in 2003 and joined the Plant Protection Laboratory of INRAT in 2004. Her main research program focuses on monitoring soil-borne diseases in cereal based cropping system and the development of integrated disease management strategies including cultural practices, chemical and biological control. She is involved in national and international projects dealing with improving field crop production. Her research activity is documented by more than 40 papers published on referenced international journals. Besides research, she is the National Contact Point for the European Research and Innovation program Horizon Europe for the cluster 6 « Food, Bioeconomy, Natural resources, Agriculture and Environment ».
