About

The Institute of Technology and Life Sciences – National Research Institute (ITP-PIB, Poland) is preparing a proposal for the Horizon Europe Cluster 6 call HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-CIRCBIO-05: Understanding biomass flows in Europe and is interested in acting as project coordinator.

ITP-PIB is a public research institute with strong expertise in sustainability assessment, circular bioeconomy, resource efficiency and applied research supporting evidence-based policymaking. The institute has extensive experience in coordinating and participating in national and international R&D projects, including cooperation with research organisations, industry, public authorities and policy actors.

The planned project aims to improve the understanding of biomass flows across Europe by integrating data collection, system modelling, material flow analysis and sustainability assessment. The project will generate policy-relevant knowledge to support circular and sustainable bioeconomy strategies at European and national levels.

As coordinator, ITP-PIB intends to ensure strong scientific leadership, effective project management, stakeholder engagement and broad dissemination of results.

We are currently seeking research organisations, universities, data providers, modelling experts, policy and socio-economic analysts, and stakeholders from bio-based value chains interested in joining the consortium as partners.

Potential partners are expected to contribute expertise in areas such as biomass supply and demand analysis, material flow analysis, system modelling, environmental and socio-economic assessment, data integration, or policy analysis related to bioeconomy and circularity.

We welcome collaboration with partners from different European regions to build a balanced and interdisciplinary consortium aligned with the objectives of the call.
