Looking for collaboration with coordinators and partners in Cluster 6 topics, offering pilot sites, farmer networks and advisory expertise
About
The Centre of Estonian Rural Research and Knowledge (METK) is a national R&D and advisory organisation supporting sustainable agriculture, rural development and the bioeconomy. We combine applied research in plant and soil science, long-term field trials, on-farm experimentation and living labs with strong farmer and advisor networks across Estonia. METK contributes expertise in climate-smart and biodiversity-friendly farming practices, knowledge exchange, AKIS integration, stakeholder engagement and policy support. We are looking for collaboration with experienced coordinators and research partners in Horizon Europe Cluster 6 and Mission Soil projects. METK can provide pilot sites, farmer networks, data collection, demonstration activities and multi-actor co-creation. We are interested in joining strong, impact-oriented consortia working on sustainable agriculture, soil health, biodiversity, food systems and rural innovation.
METK participates in international research projects covering soil science and soil biodiversity research, the development of agrometeorology and plant health digital solutions, plant health knowledge exchange, modern plant breeding technologies, and biocontrol strategies for promoting sustainable agriculture. MULTISOIL – Multifunctional soil biodiversity unlocking the potential for healthy cropping systems: Research into soil science and soil biodiversity to develop sustainable and healthy crop cultivation systems. PESTSPACE – Regional data space for plant health: Development of digital data spaces for agrometeorology and plant health, supporting more accurate pest and disease monitoring and management at the regional level. KIPPER – Knowledge, Innovation and Practice for Plant Health in Estonia: Application of plant health knowledge transfer, innovation and new practices in agriculture. MARTA – Modern Breeding Tools for Smart Food Security: Application of modern breeding tools and technologies to ensure food security and the sustainability of agrosystems. TEM-TA3 – Development of biocontrol agents to reduce chemical pesticides in plant disease management: Development of biocontrol, focusing on the use of biopreparations to reduce chemical plant protection products in disease control.
