About

We are a small farm that grows the most valuable hazelnut variety in the world (Tonda Gentile Trilobata Piemonte IGP BIO) but also the most vulnerable and delicate. The economic benefits from production and processing are increasingly reduced due to multiple stress factors (abiotic and biotic) and increasingly competitive markets. We are there interested in studying and experimenting a wide range of innovative solutions to improve post-harvest handling, processing and storage of hazelnuts, like:

  • reuse of hazelnut shells as solid biofuel or for eco-design products for artisan creativity

  • reuse of hazelnut suckers as organic fertilizers, agropharmaceuticals or construction materials

This new opportunities should create new business models and increase farm competitiveness.
