Innovating for on-farm post-harvest operations, storage and transformation of crops into food and non-food products
About
•Expertise in the valorisation of lignocellulosic materials by biorefinery to obtain cellulose, lignin, and hemicellulose.
•Lignocellulosic fibers can be modified for direct use in construction.
•Development of microcellulose or chitosan coatings to reduce losses and increase shelf-life in fruits.
•Production of microcellulose from cellulose with chemical modification to achieve desired properties (barrier, mechanical). The coating can present additional properties such as antioxidant or antibacterial.
Application through spray coating methodologies to prolong the post-harvest storage of crops
