About
Hera Materials is a MIT-spinoff, female-led startup developing Woodpack, a next-generation flexible film made from cellulose fiber and local biomass. Our solution is compostable under natural conditions, recyclable in the existing paper stream, and produced through an electrified, AI-optimized process that reduces energy consumption by up to 89% compared to fossil plastics.
We combine data-driven formulation (AI platform “Marie Curie AI”), robotic manufacturing, and circular economy principles to deliver sustainable packaging with a strong environmental impact. Validated with partners in food, retail, and pharmaceuticals. Hera Materials is positioned to scale from Chile and the U.S. into global markets, addressing both plastic pollution and climate change.
