University of applied sciences of Geneva (HEPIA)HES-SO

University

Geneva, Switzerland

About

Comprising nine undergraduate programs and three research institutes, HEPIA fulfils the HES-SO mandates set out in the Swiss Federal Act on Universities of Applied Sciences (FHSA) of 6 October 1995:

• practice-oriented undergraduate education

• continuing education

• applied research and development

• professional services

• international relations

With 1,160 students, about 350 staff members, and two campuses (Geneva and Lullier), HEPIA is one of the largest schools within HES-SO Geneva.

HEPIA brings together a centre of excellence in engineering and architecture focused on sustainable development and optimal resource management. Pooling these areas of expertise encourages a multi- and interdisciplinary approach to teaching, project management and applied research, while also fostering strong professional skills. This approach addresses the needs of the economy and society as they face the many challenges posed by increasing urbanisation.

The bachelor’s programmes are complemented in several fields by master’s degrees organised in collaboration with other universities of applied sciences and academic institutions. In addition, professional development courses and part-time training options are offered.

Ultimately, HEPIA aims to equip its students for professional life by encouraging them to develop innovative solutions that meet societal needs within a high-technology environment, thereby preparing them—competently and conscientiously—for the challenges of tomorrow
