I founded upPak after years of experience developing cross industrial

applications for industrial side-streams. Chitin (a precursor to Chitin) was a

material that peaked my interest, as it had intriguing properties, was readily

available as a by-product and was grossly overlooked. It was time to transform

this material!

After months of research and outreach, I realised that its application as a bio-

polymer could play an important role in promoting circular economy, drive a bio

based economy and was easily integratable in existing industrial processes.

With this in mind, I approached multiple stakeholders along the value chain,

raised initial funds and am grateful to have amassed an impressive roster of

consortium partners who see a both ecological and economic value in this

endeavour.
