About

The French Corrosion Institute has 60 employees on its three sites in France : Brest, Saint-Etienne and Lyon – Solaize. The French Corrosion Institute is a subsidiary of RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB .

With a team of more than 100 engineers and technicians in France and Sweden, we are among the largest laboratories in the field of corrosion and corrosion protection of materials in the world. Involved in numerous standardisation commissions, we are recognised as one of the leading corrosion centre by the industry and the scientific community.

From our three European centres, we can quickly provide solutions to various corrosion problems (including damage analyses, testing and laboratory investigations).

Our competency in investigations, diagnostics and studies is available for all metallic materials (steel, aluminium, zinc, copper, titanium and various alloys), paints, polymers and composites.

Other enabling technologies

Manufacturing and machine learning, e.g., to increase the flexibility of industrial processes, modular approaches, reduce use of materials, quality assurance and certification of products)AI-driven diagnostic systems, e.g., for assessing the viability of reused, remanufactured, and recycled components(Advanced/smart) Sensors, e.g., enabling materials, components and product flows measurement(Advanced) Materials and additive manufacturingLife cycle assessment / Product life cycle management – e.g., Digital Twin / Digital Product Passport

Data technologies, data ecosystems and cross-linking

(AI based) recognition systems (e.g. image recognition) to evaluate materials, components and products and determine the best use paths(AI based) Material and Product Design, Decomposition and Separation
