Advanced LCA for innovative solutions
About
In addition to conventional LCIA methods as recommended for the Product Environmental Footprint by the European Commission, a methodology has been developed at Fraunhofer UMSICHT by Maga et al. (2022), http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s11367-022-02040-1 . This can be added to the foreground system and thus include potential impacts caused by plastics pollution in the assessment.
Similarly, the assessment of other hitherto unaccounted for impacts can be developed and applied within CBE research projects.
