About
Our team in the research unit production and consumption systems of the Wuppertal Institute (https://wupperinst.org/en/research/research-units/production-and-consumption-systems/)) has carried out assessments of various product-service-systems and is particularly interested in prospective assessments in the phase of designing new systems. Hence, we want to envision new pathways for sustainable consumption and production and use sustainability assessments as an orientation in the design phase (this includes all kinds of design: industrial, engineering, communication, interface, etc.). We can also do qualitative and quantitative studies on consumer behavior and acceptance. We can do rough assessments but also use sound logic models for more detailed impact assessment. Beyond assessment expertise, we also have designers in our team and have recently focused more on design for circularity along the R-strategies, e.g. looking at (electronic) household appliances. We can combine this knowledge and use it to design concrete product-service-systems but also corporate strategies or policies.
