Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de Andalucía was founded at the end of 1995 as the business organisation representing and defending the Andalusian agricultural social economy and under the name, at that time name, at that time, of the Andalusian Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Enterprises (FAECA). In July 2014 it changed its name, in line with the national confederation, Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España, to which it belongs.

At present, Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de Andalucía has 640 member cooperatives (including agricultural societies). associated cooperatives (including agricultural processing companies), i.e. almost all the cooperatives in the region. that is to say, practically all the agri-food cooperatives in Andalusia.

The federated entities account for 60% of the region's agricultural production, while in cases such as olive oil, they exceed in cases such as olive oil, they account for over 70% of Andalusian production. With more than 305,000 farming and livestock farming members, the agri-food co-operatives cooperatives in the federation had a turnover of more than 11,000 million euros last year, which is equivalent to more than 11,000 million euros, which is equivalent to more than 6% of Andalusia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
