About me
Dr. Jesús M. Ruano López earned his PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Glasgow in 2000. He joined IKERLAN that year as a researcher in Microsystems, later launching an international career by leading three European research projects.
He has supervised four PhD theses, co-authored 52 publications and seven patents, and organized five international workshops. As an entrepreneur, he co-founded two companies. He has also held key roles at CIC microgune and IKERLAN, including Lab-on-a-Chip Group Leader and International Research Manager.
Recognized with several international awards, he was elected Chairman of the Applied Micro-Nano-Bio Systems Working Group of EPoSS and later of the Connected Devices Working Group of the European Cybersecurity Organization.
Currently, he is Head of the International Area at IKERLAN, focusing on multidisciplinary team management and transforming disruptive technologies into market-oriented systems in electronics, ICT, advanced manufacturing, and energy, leveraging his expertise in bio and mechatronic systems.
