VITAWELD Project

We are currently executing VITAWELD (Vision & Human-Robot Teaming for Enhanced Welding), funded by the ARISE European project 1st Open Call.

Objective: Develop an intuitive vision-based system for human-robot collaboration in industrial welding of large metallic components, enhancing operator capabilities while ensuring quality control.

Technology: Computer vision + AI (LLMs, reinforcement learning) + ROS 2 architecture for real-time defect detection, intuitive robot programming, and intelligent parameter optimization. The system enables natural interaction between operators and collaborative robots, reducing barriers to automation while maintaining precision and safety standards essential for high-precision welding applications.

We continue seeking R&D opportunities to develop projects in human-robot interaction and intelligent robotics with consortia for funding programs including Horizon Europe.
