SMARTC «iCrosswalk»-Visual warning system for drivers: pedestrian presence at uncontrolled crossings

LLC «SMART SI» is engaged in developing technological solutions in the Smart City domain and creates software for intelligent transport systems. The solutions are based on computer vision technologies and modern neural network architectures.

The developed iCrosswalk smart pedestrian crossing system enables efficient analysis of pedestrian traffic by leveraging artificial intelligence technologies for 24/7 monitoring of situations at pedestrian crossings. When a pedestrian enters the crossing zone, the system detects them, determines their direction of movement, and sends a signal to the information display above the roadway. Additionally, contrast lighting of the crossing and projection of road markings are activated during dark hours.

The SPIN‑PERIMETER software performs object detection using pre‑trained deep convolutional neural networks; it identifies instances where drivers fail to yield to pedestrians, recognises vehicle licence plates using deep convolutional neural networks, and transmits data about detected violations along with photo and video materials to the traffic police information and analytics systems (police force).

The solutions being developed comply with the implementation methodology for intelligent transport systems aimed at automating traffic management in urban agglomerations. They integrate into a unified transport management platform, including the «Safe City», «Smart City», Intelligent Transport System, Central Automated Fine Processing Centre (ЦАФАП), and «Pauchina» («Web») systems.
