About me

I am an Urban Resilience and Livelihood Officer with a deep commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment. I have a strong background in coastal & marine resource management, where I have led critical initiatives, including mangrove conservation and beekeeping programs that have strengthened ecosystems while benefiting local communities

In my current role at Big Ship Organization, I am the driving force behind projects like the BlueBiz program through Partnership with Techno Serve that is yet to kick start, which aims at supporting over 300 young people in ecotourism businesses, through skills development, access to market and financial solutions and creating awareness to young women and men on the potential for blue entrepreneurship. My work is grounded in fostering resilience in urban and coastal communities, ensuring long-term, environmentally sound solutions that promote economic growth.

Beyond environmental conservation, I have dedicated over six months to mentoring opportunity youth and high school students, guiding them on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. Through these mentorship programs, I was able to equip about 20 young people with the skills and confidence needed to shape their futures.

I have also played a key role in leading the development of a sustainable tourism program ‘Mikoko Nature Trail and now focusing on shaping the business model. Under this program, I have capacity-built, and organized training sessions for various focus groups, such tour guides, and young women in the cultural heritage industry, ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to thrive in their businesses.

My extensive experience and dedication to both people and nature make me a passionate advocate for resilience, environmental stewardship, and community-driven development.
