Single Fan High Energy Savings
BES Comfort Air Handling Units perform the same job as standard air handling units using a single fan. While the power-to-power efficiency of each fan in standard systems is around 65%, using two fans to perform the same job consumes a total of 35% more energy. While the total fan efficiency in standard air conditioning systems is 0.65 x 0.65 = 0.42, this ratio is 0.65 + 0.35 in BES systems.
This ratio alone demonstrates that BES is over 40% more efficient than other systems. While fan-related energy savings range from 30% to 70%, optimizing with demand control features provides even more significant benefits. Air from fan coils fed with cooling water can extend the initial cost of operation by up to 70% over the first 2-3 years. BES plants are connected to a chiller or DX system and are connected to the optimal pump group to meet the system's needs, providing the right solution.
Unique Specific Fan Power (SPF)
One way to describe the energy efficiency of a fan system is its specific fan power.
A fan's SBF is a function of the power consumed by the fan and the airflow rate it passes. SBF is the mathematical expression obtained by dividing the fan's power by the airflow rate it passes per second. A low SBF value indicates a fan's efficiency.
Since all air is exhausted and sucked using a single fan in BES power plants, their efficiency is much higher than similar ones.
For example, the total fan power of a conventional power plant with a flow rate of 18,000 m3/h is approximately 18.6 kW. The fan power of a BES power plant with the same flow rate is approximately 9.2 kW.
When the SBF values are calculated, the SBF value of the classical power plant is 1.989 W /(m3.s -1), while the SBF value of the BES power plant is 980 W /(m3.s -1).
The highest level of efficiency is achieved from the fans used in BES power plants.
