Orchard Bio Inc. is a bio-venture that develops a new concept of cell therapy products (we call them hAP cells). The hAP cell includes drug-loaded PLGA (Poly Lactide-Glycolic Acid) nanoparticles in the cytoplasm and the inside drug can be released from the hAP cell along the hydrolysis of the PLGA. The above configuration reveals the cell in the hAP cell plays a role of Drug Delivery System toward the inside drug, resulting in the repression of the drug toxicity and the enhancement of the efficacy in the synergy of the drug and cell functions. According to the appropriate selection of the drug and the cell, a variety of hAPs cells could be established and indicated to the various diseases. At present, several in-house pipelines are progressing and the utilities of the hAP cells are shown in the cell-based assays and an in vivo study.
