oPod™ Integrated Ocean Infrastructure: Renewable-Powered Desalination, Monitoring and Marine Intelligence

CFO at Blue Carbon Pty Ltd

Australia

About

Blue Carbon’s oPod™ platform is an integrated, renewable-powered ocean infrastructure system designed to improve water security, support sustainable aquaculture and strengthen the climate resilience of coastal and marine industries.

The platform combines three complementary technologies: oPod Aqua, oPod Mini and the Blue Carbon Cloud platform.

oPod Aqua is an autonomous offshore system that harnesses wave energy, supported by onboard solar and wind generation, to collect, circulate and manage seawater. It is being developed for applications including offshore desalination, marine cooling, water circulation, oxygenation and environmental restoration. By reducing dependence on grid electricity, diesel-powered pumping and large shore-based intake systems, oPod Aqua offers a modular and potentially lower-impact solution for islands, remote communities and water-scarce coastal regions.

oPod Mini is Blue Carbon’s compact smart monitoring buoy. It continuously measures key marine parameters including temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, turbidity, chlorophyll-a and water depth. The system is designed for rapid deployment in aquaculture farms, coastal waters, desalination sites and environmentally sensitive marine locations. Data collected by oPod Mini and other connected oPod systems is transmitted to the Blue Carbon Cloud platform, where users can access real-time information, historical trends, alerts and operational insights. The platform is being developed to support predictive analytics, early warning functions and evidence-based decision-making for marine operators, governments and environmental managers.

Together, the oPod technologies provide both physical marine intervention and digital ocean intelligence. This integrated approach enables customers to monitor changing conditions, respond earlier to environmental risks and operate marine assets more efficiently. Blue Carbon is seeking investment and strategic partnerships to scale manufacturing, expand cloud capabilities, deliver demonstration projects and deploy oPod systems across Belt and Road markets. Potential partners include governments, utilities, infrastructure investors, aquaculture operators, engineering groups and local marine-service providers.
